Agree about the transient massage therapists. No matter what kind of shop, chiropractor, franchise, AMP, most masseuses work a short time and then move on. Many times I built a rapport with a therapist before learning she moved away. It didn't matter if she was legit or not. Actually most were legit and I got tired of having to go from place to place and build a new rapport while getting only a massage for more than I shell out at an AMP. A lot of the hiring or adding new talent comes from the Asian network. Owners know owners and move workers from shop to shop, city to city. Atlanta is still under caution from the killings a couple of years ago. But underground publications are present that lure workers to locations and those workers stay awhile before moving on. There are those who remain locally for a long time and those who migrate around the country. It's about an even mix.

There is nothing underground, it's just Chinese websites where they clearly post massage jobs that include the amount of money they are proposing they could make. Of course, there is also word of mouth or a combination. I think the shooting concerns are less than the risk of arrests due to the crack down in the 'burbs and next the amount of money they can make. As someone said, it is kind of a gray area where the 'polite' culture may not assume you are giving HJs if you work at a massage shop, but if you are arrested you obviously are and lose face which is a big deal to the Chinese. The girls know which places are giving HJs and which are not. Their main concern is the amount of traffic, if it is too slow or the tips are bad they move on.

Because of all the traffic I went ahead and swung by completely out of my way (like a 45 minute drive here damn! I went by on Day 1 and was greeted by Gina who took me back to a room. She is definitely my style but unfortunately I was massaged by an older lady (40+) who's name I can't remember. OTC bottom and UTC top. Second visit was late 30's early 40's again don't remember the name because I honestly thought of just leaving, flat ass and no real chest to speak of. Massage was meh and OTC top and bottom, she wanted 100 for UTC top LOL. I am known to be generous but come on, UTC top for 100 but would only lift the bra not even take off. I forwent and left. Trying to book with Gina but every time she is either off or left early. Who should I ask for that is 20-30 and has a decent menu? So far not impressed but willing to give it another try.

Saw this place for the first time. It's called Amazing Massage on Chamblee Dunwoody Rd. Has anyone been here?

It has been many years since I have been there- kind of surprised to hear it's still there. Depending on ownership over the years you could have happiness or not. Even when 'not' there was the occasional lucky session. During the early days when the treat your feet girls opened it I had an attractive younger girl finish the deal and said that was the first time and she wasn't doing it anymore. I believe it because she was terrible and never saw her again. Later an older lady was reliable, but new ownership wanted the girls to leave the doors cracked open, so I never returned.

Masseuses are transient across the board, whether in AMPs or in a legit shop like Massage Envy. It's not because of closed minded owners or a reluctance to modernize. It's because of the nature of the job and the kind of people it attracts. Not really sure how many owners you know, but the vast majority are not trolling stations and shelters to get workers. The traditional mode is classified advertising and word of mouth. And in Asian culture (like American culture), rub and tug massage shops are not the kind of employers most women like to tell their friends and family about.

Due to the nature of the business, Chinese (and to a lesser extent, Korean) culture is ideal for a business operating on the fringes of LE. For example, therapeutic massage more or less was invented in China. The Chinese culture is secretive and naturally averse to government. The list goes on and on. The industry will be slow to change because it works well this way.

Hats off to ML for stepping out and trying to change things. Other shops are following as well.

Interesting! Just sharing as I have not had an opportunity to participate lately. Received text today from my Mamasan friend. Known her for a long time. She recently reopened Pearl in Roswell. Business Slow (newly opened, but I understand the LE concern, plus add increased prices lately) She is trying an American strategy to boost business. So she is trying. One hour is now $59.99 and includes bathing. This is my own opinion, but maybe a great idea and could bring other shops prices down as well. Competition Guys!! Could it work? Or is she doomed because of Roswell shutdowns??

It's been declining over the past 20+ years, what makes you think it'll turn around or are you new at this?

LOL Not really new. 5 decades; first massage shop in 1975.

My experience is the opposite, the owners I've known both Chinese and Korean work hard to rotate girls from places like New York periodically, sure they have their "staff" girls but often used to try to bring in fresh talent, but ever since the shootings girls from other areas don't want to come to Atlanta, it's got a bad reputation in the massage world. Had a long conversation with the owner of IYV on Cheshire bridge about 6 months after the shooting, she used to rotate in a NY girl every few months and send the old one back, then none of the girls from the north would come anymore, that's not an isolated shop it's actually very common. While we may not think about the shooting every time we go to a shop, they still talk about it. A few months back I was in Las Vegas and went to a parlor, they asked where I was from, I told them and they immediately were like "oh girls get killed there, not safe place."

That fear of ATL from the shootings is old news. There are many risk-averse girls for many reasons that are bigger than that; COVID literally restricted the amount of new talent to arrive in the US, the strangling of parlors by governments (Johns Creek, Duluth, Roswell, Norcross, Peachtree Corners et al) is a bigger rumor / fear than some monger who went nuts. Bringing in temporary talent from NYC (really the only city anyone does that) is a long standing practice and now that NYC basically doesn't prosecute FS is another dagger in the heart. You can make a lot more money in 3 months in NYC than you can down here.

Add in: losing Backpages and Creative Loafing. Easy advertising that even Broken Engrish could figure out is lonnggggggg gone. Wives with Life 360 or Find My and 24/7 security from Ring makes things harder for Pro Mongers to chase trim. It's harder than ever for providers to pimp their trade.

ML is the hot brand and the girls haven't been poached yet. The infighting for clients probably hasn't begun. The pettiness amongst girls, the greed, the temptation to bring a book of clients to another shop hasn't even started yet.

In the end it's all about retaining the talent and that business model is much more simple than has been depicted in the many posts about ML. That model is that it's the girls that make the bags and not the shop.

Everyone wants hot parlors everywhere but those times are long gone. If you want to compare the parlor scene today with just 6 years ago, there is no comparison. As I said, time will tell if ML can maintain their talent level. Plan to stop by next week to check it out.

Thanks night! You mentioned stopping by ML next week? I don't want to mislead you or anyone else. None of those girls have joined ML. At best, I believe one, maybe two will in the future. It's a new concept that has not become reality yet. If it wasn't for that one customer posting, nobody would even know. The girls were actually interviewed offsite for several reasons including possible business disruption; not really fair to customers.

Come on night! Get with it man. I was being sarcastic! Mainly because of your "no need to fuck with a sound business model" statement. Maybe you are satisfied and don't mind driving all over the Atlanta metro area day after day to find the same aging faces recycling from shop to shop?

Not me! I think that approach absolutely sucks! And accordingly, I was simply praising Ms. Wang for her creative approach of attempting to acquire new talent. It worked! Now all of us just need to sit back and see if any of those beauties can transition into the world of Atlanta massage shops. Time will tell.

I've been to ML a few times and never bothered to get the persons name since the talent is better than other places. This time around, I got her name. Monica. She was great with the massage and did a very sensual HE. No rush to it at all. Got the full hour. OTC bottom and UTC top. They just raised their price tk $70/ hr.

Anyone gotten 4 hand here? What do you usually tip for 4 hand in general?

Thank you for your thoughtful and informative posting. In my attempt to respond to Nite's "it doesn't matter" comment, I definitely generalized a tad too much.

LOL I guess I am somewhat jaded (and turned off) or biased by so many dirty, old shops that often makes me wonder how they ever pass building code inspections and all the "senior citizen" staffs that look more like an AARP Sign-Up than an appealing lineup of attractive young women!

Actually, I do know several shop owners and enjoy those conversations. But, they all have younger, attractive girls than what I was referring to. It just seems like day after day on this site, so many guys are constantly chatting about and pursuing aging and unattractive women that receive considerable $$$ in relationship to their assets and services provided.

Hopefully, Atlanta can become a desired destination once again for massage and spa workers!
