The problem with showing up with $400 instead of $600 is that if she agrees to do the session for $400, she'll cut back on services (kind of a win for her). For example, she might not do DATY, BBJ or multiple positions.

Another way to do it is to text in the morning and say, "Hi Daisy, if business is slow and you have any $400 sessions today or this week, that's in my budget. Let me know. ".

I agree with you and normally one can be grandfathered in, but she emailed me that she was in town previously and in the opening email mentioned that rates had gone up. I might have been able to haggle but I didn't try since it was mentioned at the outset.
