I've seen multiple times people reference them calling a place of work, but like. What do they say?

They call to verify the work place and also ask for you or your extension. Obviously if the person answering the phone isn't a business or they have never heard of you, you won't get verified. Like the Seinfeld episode, George being a latex salesman at Vandalay Industries.

Yeah, definitely not like Yelp! That said, I don't know if the girls are taking cocks all day long like they used to. Several providers I'm in somewhat regular contact with consistently complain about how slow it is these days, especially in Vegas, compared to a couple years ago (and Vegas was already considered slow back then compared to markets like LA, the Bay Area, or Dallas). I've also heard of bookers calling a customer directly to yell at them for scheduling issues, even if it's the booker's fault.

It seems like bookers generally don't care about, or have any idea about, customer service. If they treat us well, we'll treat them well, and we'll go to them when we can afford to and want to. But they make enough money that they don't care, and when we get disappointed and express our opinions, they get pissed.

It's like a restaurant that has high prices and shitty food, and when they read the reviews on Yelp, instead of trying to learn from their mistakes, they just double down and shit talk their customers. To each their own, I guess.
