Police do not run stings because they know it's a waste of everyone's time. From their policy directive:

1. Consensual Sex Work and Solicitation: The Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Office will not.

File criminal charges based solely on:

Value, or.

(b) the solicitation of such an exchange.

So the police won't bother chasing this down because it's not going to lead to convictions.

It's entirely possible under this policy that a police department could decide to run a sting for johns, but so far that hasn't happened and I don't expect any local LEO to start.

I suggest you read the policy directive and draw your own conclusions. I, for one, feel rather comfortable engaging in this hobby in Washtenaw county.
