I might sound naive, but I do feel this girl is different. She has only been mentioned on this board a very very small handful of times.

But that's besides the point. She has never asked me for help to get her out of the game, or asked for anything besides the normal donation. But like I said, I have seen how much her child has changed this person's life, and I would hate to see this person grow old continuing down this destructive path due to being unable to leave if they wanted. That is a choice they will have to make. But if and when this person does try to leave the game, especially for their child, I know it will be hard.

I realize this may be counter intuitive to the point of this board, but I'd like some feedback.

Has anyone ever tried and / or been successful and helping one of these girls get out of the game?

This girl is a great person and I can tell they want to get out. But I can see how she isn't in the best situation. She's clean, I know she is and she's not lying. She's recently had a child and its completely changed her. I know deep inside she wants to get out of this life, especially for her son. But she doesn't have much experience working. No high school diploma, and it's been a while so GED would be hard. Not even financial aid to go back to school and get certification of some kind. No family that she can count on.

I've grown to care in some way for this girl.

Yes! That is true for the most part. There are some exceptions. Some do it for the easy money. I can tell you a couple examples. Kyra is not a druggie but shei s a provider by choice. Had another visitor that used to moonlight over the weekend as a provider. She had a nursing job during the week but when she needed that extra cash it was fun time. But 98% are just druggies and some hide it pretty good.

I finally got around to seeing Demi and it was a pretty good visit. First the bad news, that is not her in those pictures or at least it's not the current her. So I am currently working with a girl to get her out of the life. Because she told me she wanted out. My first quote to her was "I can't save you, you have to save yourself. I can only give you the ability and the support to do that. " She said she understood, she moved in with me, then promptly moved out and went back to the life. Now I haven't abandon hope on her, I still help her, and don't have sex with her, but at some point she has to decide its really what she wants. That life isn't easy to break out of, it grabs hold of these girls with drugs and some easy money. So the only thing I will say is be careful. I really care about the girl I'm helping, and I know that deep down she wants out, wants a better life, but as I said, you are not a knight in shining armor, she has to be her own savior. Give her the tools and either she will pull herself up, or she will just take advantage and keep doing what she is doing. One last thing, you can't help her from the outside of her life, if she doesn't let you into the dirty parts of her life, she is likely just taking advantage of a good thing!

I am retired from the game but was a player for around 50 years. And my experience has been, they all say they want out of the game.

I don't want to sound heartless, but 95 % of these ladies are drug addicts. From weed, to Xanax, to crack, to meth, to herion. Usually in that order.

Once you get to the top 3 , these girls can't be helped by non professionals. They become magnificent liars, and usually are stringing two or three suckers along at the same time. Their habits can run from 5 to 7 hundred dollars a week and sometimes more.

I am speaking from experience because I considered myself a knight in shining armor.

Best way to find out if you are being used, is just ask the board if anyone is being shook down for help with a specific provider. . Communicate your answers thru private messages. I was shocked once to find out a well know provider asked for help getting glasses and 5 guys were helping her to the tune of 40 dollars to 200 dollars.

My advice is point them to a rehab program and once they commit to that, then help them.

The best program for help in this area is freedom house. They strictly help drug addicted mothers and their program is for 3 years. Freedom house is very hard to get admitted because of their strict vetting process, but they have a 85% success record. AND, once they take an addict into their program, they get free housing, food, clothing, and job training. Oh and by the way, they have to attend church services on a very regular basis.

Unfortunately, in my 25 years in Greensboro, I have known about a half dozen providers who have over dosed and either drowned in their own vomit, taken too much and died from heart failure, or froze to death behind a building in down town greensboro.
