Does someone actually think they can sit at a strip club without buying a drink or food at least every hour or so?? Nobody can be that naive can they?

I will take the other side of this conversation.

I have twice been harrassed about buying drinks at a strip club. Each time I complained to the manager that I didn't like that treatment and left. I told him that I was certain it was not important to him but I brought money to spend and would be taking my business elsewhere. Also both times it happened to me the club was at least half empty. I might have understood if it was packed and I was taking up space but that was not the case. I think the waitresses are bored and hustle for more tips. I did not return to that club for many months, although I ultimately did return both times.

I normally spend 4 to 5 hours in the club when I go, because I am hoping to visit the VIP twice and I need about an hour between my sessions.

I never order food because my equipment doesn't work well right after I eat.

I typically buy a drink and don't drink much of it for however long I am there. After my first VIP session I am usually in need of fluid replacement and finish my drink and order a second one. If I do second VIP I repeat that process an order a 3rd drink. I will occasionally buy drinks or shots for a dancer if I know and know she performs better with more alcohol in her, or if I am between sessions and not through my recovery period. I end up buying dancer drinks or shots on about 1 out of every 4 visits.

However many night the girls I want to go with choose other guys first, or we negotiate but can't reach a mutually acceptable price. I have often sat in the club nursing one drink for 4 hours or 2 drinks for 5 hours.

Do not think the expectation to by a drink every hour is reasonable or necessary. I get asked frequently if want another drink and I politely decline. I also will say I am waiting for so and so to come out of the VIP and I will get another drink after she and I go to the VIP. I find once the waitress thinks you are not an easy Mark, they move onto the next guy. The strip club is a buyer beware environment. Everyone will hustle if they get the chance.

I will acknowledge that you guys who buy drinks every hour are better customers than me. My money should still be good there, and I am often a repeat customer. I also agree the club is entitled to make a decent profit off me, and that is why I pay 8 dollar for soft drink. It is not to buy many many drinks.

Me and a friend got kicked out of Flight Club because we weren't spending enough. At least on drinks, we had been spending it on girls, but they wanted their drink money.

I could see that a place like fight club.

That's the thing, it is required at the places I named. Only difference is the tule of going to VIP, but best believe if you sit longer than 15 minutes they are going to require you to buy a drink, or least that's what the barmaid mentioned at Bogies.

You just have to get to know the wait staff, if your nice to them they won't hassle you about buying drinks. I got hassled my first few times in Bogarts. But now I can say 'I'd just like a water' and they won't even flinch at it.

Yeah, the whole business model for a bar / strip bar is to sell alcohol, or overpriced soft drinks, etc. Even if you tell them you're here for the legit floor show, buying drinks over time is going to be required.

The bars exists to make money.

I've seen places from time to time, require the 2 drink min. And something quite different; not fond of that setup.

But just to go and sit there waiting for girl / backroom to free up, isn't something very practical.

I"m a regular at both Bogart's and North and in all of the years that I've been going, I've never had that issue at either place. Only at South, under the previous manager.

There's a difference between ask and require. Under the old manager at South, you had to buy two drinks for yourself or pay an extra $10 before you could go to the back. You could have bought one for yourself and five for other girls but until you met the requirement of two for yourself, no dice.

Now, I don't buy just one drink anyway and I always make sure to tip the waitresses 4 or 5 dollars per drink (yes, seriously) but a lot of guys do and again, there's a difference between ask and require. So, drop that crazy rule and make it like North and Bogart's, get a new manager and some decent looking girls to work there and it'll do well again. My understanding was that it was going to reopen in March but so far, nothing.

Not that I've seen. It would be nice if they would. The only reason it had gone downhill for the last 3-4 years was because of the manager they had working there. He treated a lot of girls bad, so they either quit or went elsewhere. Fewer girls or fewer attractive girls = fewer guys coming in. Another thing that reduced the traffic was that "You have to buy two drinks for yourself" rule, if you wanted to avoid the $10 fee to go to the VIP. Bogart's doesn't have a two drink minimum, North doesn't have a two drink minimum, so why did South? Obviously, it was an individual choice by the manager.

The point of my rant is this: If they got a good manager in there, it could be very successful again.

Went to the cricket last night for the first time in a while. Man the lineup was terrible. 7 dancers total. To be fair there was one knockout 10/10 Aa dancer who's name I did not get. Every guy she talked to she went to VIP with. 6 other dancers were all 6's at best. Two came and talked to me. One was Jillian, it was her first day and she seemed like an older crackhead the other was Tina or Trina I think and was chubby not especially cute and wanted 300 for a BBBJ and wouldn't budge. Avoid on Sunday nights apparently.
