Hi guys. First time exploring being an SD, no idea how to go about it. I've been checking all the forums for tips and am taking notes before I dive in. I liked this girl and wanted to see if any of you have already met her and see if it is worth pursuing. A big thank you in advance.

Some of the changes that have caused the site to get stricter were likely to attract more SBs. Things like getting super strict with banning members for payment talk. Preventing SDs from requesting pics without payment, etc etc. Problem though, the issue isn't a safety one. It's financial. Labor market is tight. 2 solid rotation members from my squad got real professional jobs and are now too busy to meet regularly. Student loans have been on pause for months. Young college coeds who just graduated are living with their parents and don't need to pay loans and are finding real work with mass boomer retirements, lower immigration, or dropping out of the labor force counting the stacks of cash they made selling NFTs or investing in ethereum in 2018.
Seeking is left with dregs now. Without the young coeds who needed cash to go out (and that's dropped off as well with travel restrictions so ladies aren't interested as much in traveling and don't need the same kind of funds to go out with COVID travel restrictions in place) SDs aren't joining in the same numbers.
It's all a negative feedback loop. And it's unlikely to get better. Also, good luck getting bought out. Publicly traded companies are not going to touch seeking with a 20 foot pole. Matt Gaetz helped kill the possibility of any potential buyout.
What Brandon Wade needs is what the US economy needs, which is for the Fed to invert the yield curve and force folks back into the labor market while crushing asset prices. Turning student loan payments back on won't hurt either. If all that happens, then SBs will start flicking back to the site, and Brandon will be back in business since all the mongers on these sites will stop bitching about how bad the site has become, but will instead be posting about the hot SB who was willing to take 1/2 the allowance the last SB wanted since competition in the bowl has become so fierce. The advertising campaign will literally be all us mongers posting here.

Seeking has been trying to bill my credit card (pre-paid with a zero balance so good luck. Hahaha) for two months now, even though I canceled! Incredibly shady. I think the price increase really hurt them, as members dropped off.

Then today when I log into my backup account, several weird things happen. 1) No challenge to my using an incognito browser. Previously as part of their increased "security" I had to verify with a code when logging in from a masked browser. 2) I immediately got a pop-up offering a 33% discount on a membership. Still a no.
I think they are having serious financial issues. The site has gone way downhill from 2015 When I joined for a month and had great success. Oh well.

Posts: 303More likely E. None of the above
More likely it's just about marketing and money, as it is for most businesses. Quick google search estimates SA revenue (not income) $30-40 million / year. Match revenue, $2. 8 billion. Hard to find good current info, but they estimate 22 million members. In 2012 Wade himself estimated SA had 10 million members, 8 million SB, 2 million SD. Revenue was $10 million. SA was grossing an average of $5/ SD per year.

This Wade guy has a pretty impressive background. MIT, software engineer, Booz Allen. He's trying to leverage SA into a more lucrative market. Who knows, maybe he would like to be bought out. Hopefully not much changes on the SD-SB side, maybe appearing to be more mainstream brings in new members who are intrigued by the more risqu aspect of SB, but we're previously hesitant to join. To the guys who have paid memberships, are there any changes indicating they are trying to actually restrict SD / SB activities? Great he found love, whatever. Probably didn't have a prenup in his first marriage and needs the money. She probably got half of SA, LOL. Tell me about it. As in most things, follow the money.

I'm not sure any of us should be surprised by the depths of such foolishness. Even if she does take him for a ride, I still bad for HER, not him. Just look at the fucking guy.

Ok let me get this right? You meet a girl of your sight now your mindset is different. You getting married no pre-nup at all and you changing the name? Ok he is either.

Spotted this a month ago when it popped up. Was pretty sure it was her even though I don't think I was lurking back when she still posted ads. Wondered when someone else would take note, or more importantly, when someone would do so publicly, because I wasn't about to say anything. I'm surprised she logged back in, frankly; never responded to me.

Iykyk.
I almost don't want to post her name, it takes half a page to clear up which one she is, ha. Is it crofton, CB, Brooklyn Park, millersville.
Interesting that she hasnt updated the fact that she is with child (and showing), will be quite the surprise for a SD that meets her

Is she making him change it?
And it's been seeking.com a while, the arrangement has been dropped from their branding a while.
Worst move was taking away the setting where the SBs could list their expectation level. Made it tougher to weed out the GPS.
He goes and gets his on the site and then c-blocks the rest of us haha.

Posts: 373If you haven't seen this news about seeking
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sx3Dg_igqVg
It's a three minute video. In short:
*the founder of Seeking, Brendon Wade, is getting married.
*he's excessively emotional / serious about this.
*he's "transforming Seeking" (tomorrow, Feb 14) into a dating platform for success-minded individuals.
*they will shed the "Arrangement" part entirely.
Hard to say what this is going to mean in practice. "Officially" it feels like the same rules as before. But I anticipate increased crackdowns on forbidden verbiage, at a minimum.
Stay safe.

There are a lot of hurdles.
1st VPN or new internet provider.
2nd Vanilla credit card.
3rd new device (PC or phone that you haven't log into your old SA account).
4th New Email.
5th New pics that haven't been use before.

I wouldn't discuss details on their message service. Exchange numbers (burner) and discuss there. That filters out the time wasters and anyone not ready to deal. Occasionally you'll get someone new to the game and will need to talk to warm them up. But keep it vanilla on the site.
