Separately, I did find an Eastpointe condo right off the expressway. Ask is 44 K. The Googler says P&I is $210 with zero down. I don't know the HOA details.

The monger can pay hourly motels or use that money to build an equity position in an Eastpointe condo. Mongers need investments.

Most inner ring suburbs have condos for under 50 K.

I have done that and probably at the exact location you are talking about. The neighbors have nothing to do except look out their window all day and they get nosy and figure out what you're doing. What I assume was an ex-street walker that lived on the street even approached me and asked if I wanted company when I was driving in.

Dorchester Motel. Grand River between Inkster and Beech Daly (Redford). I stopped in to ask, but never stayed there. They have a different set up, where you can stay "most" of the afternoon for a reasonable rate (don't remember the exact hours or the price).

Bahama Motel. Grand River just north of 8-Mile (Farmington Hills). Last July it was $40-45 I think.

Out of curiosity, I stopped at a few other nearby places and they were in the $40 - $50 range. None of the "chain" motels that I checked offered short stays.

Not to argue the availability of free trailers, but a cleaned up shelter with utilities available spells squatters within 24 hours. Good luck getting rid of them.

I have always had good luck with the Redford Motel, 9087 Telegraph, Redford, Mi. Relatively clean, at least sheets and towels are. $ 45 for a short stay, 3 hours.

But can you think outside of the box? First thing that comes to mind.

An inexpensive climate controlled 24 hour access storage unit would fit the bill nicely. Throw some lawn chairs into the unit. Maybe some used gymnastics equipment and a black light, or plain hay bales. Acoustic foam panels will give that high-end 'feel', no need with hay bales. A small bar with red Solo cups in the corner. Just bring ice.

Upgrade and lease a commercial cafe or spacette from an urban innovator. Russell Industrial Center is central and lease small spaces. Classy.

Any recommendations on short stay hotels in Brighton & Fenton areas? Trying to avoid a drive to the east, if I find someone on the west side.
