Try including wording in your profile that indicates there will be no gifts before meeting in person. Then if asked for $ before you meet, you can ask if "she" read your entire profile. .

I suppose that would work but I'm going to say 15% of the time I can get them past any initial ask and go forward. I kind of enjoy when I know the are going that direction and I get to thwart their effort to work it into the conversation.
