Who knows. She could have had an injury that caused her to be on pain medications. In nursing, diversion of drugs is a huge issue. If her pain was not controlled through legal channels, then she had access to plenty at the hospital. If one comes to work and appear under the influence to the observant eye, she could have been reported and told to pee in a cup. When one gets popped for this, you now have an encumbered license, of which it is hard to find employment. You have to pay for your own drug treatment, which has to be completed before you're allowed to practice again.

It's a grueling process and very unfortunate. The work in nursing school is horrendous and requires a great sacrifice, but when the drugs are calling, it's hard to resist the urge. When I dealt with her a while ago, bad experience and all, she told me she was a nurse back then. I tested her by asking her a certain medication question and she passed; seemed to be pretty informed. So, it appears she really was telling the truth about her former career. Such a shame! How far she has fallen!

I absolutely agree! Walking away is your best option. Imagine, we are buying puss and in the process, you have to shoot someone and go through that grueling legal process. The lawyer fees can be astronomical and think about what you have to explain to your employer and SO. This would not look good either way one looks at it. I'd much rather cough up $500, if it means walking away safely. I have not been seeing these hooks much. I have lost much of my desire because of all the shenanigans with them.
