Had something similar happen when trying to set something up with a hispanic provider. When I told her I was good she then said the boss told her I needed to pay anyway. No offense, but I legitimately have no idea how anyone could not possibly see how obvious this scam is. But obviously some don't since they keep trying it. Not sure which variant you got, but there is always something ridiculous about the threats that gives it away wether it's a beheading video that's gone viral several times, claims of being a known cartel member, or whatever else. I guarantee you no high ranking cartel member is trying to extort random horny dudes 2000 miles away. Odd that he asked for such a high amount though, did you do something to make him think you'd pay it like pay the initial couple hundred they usually ask for? Was your number tied to personal stuff?
