Never pay in advance. With Zelle and CashApp it's nearly impossible to get the money back once you sent it. E-Bay gift card, once you give that number, it's gone. Out of respect for some women on the other site, giving $50 in advance is fine as long as they've been around forever. No one is going to destroy their business over $50, but I'd say the vast majority of requesting funds in advance is a scam.
