The alternative would have been to plead not guilty and taken it to trial, or see if they offer a different plea bargain. Since I didn't want to pay the fees on an actual lawyer and was using the public defenders office I wasn't going to take those chances. If you meant what is the max penalty that I was facing 6 months in jail and some fines I believe for 1st time offense is the worst.
