I don't think drugs is the only reason the Dayton scene has declined, although that is a big part of it.

I think back around 2006 and 2007 when Backpage was becoming popular, a lot of girls in their early 20's saw it as a nice way to make fast money. I was in Dayton 10-12 years ago and the action was at the strip clubs. (Harem, Living Room, Sharky's) I know they all have been shut down due to the shenanigans.
