I can't speak for other VPN's but I know NordVPN does dedicated VPN's if you pay extra. I think they have a regular 2-3 year rate, but then you have to almost pay the equivalent of a one year rate to have a specific dedicated IP address in certain locations around the world. It only lasts a year. I did it because I was going to do some offshore gambling and the apps I wanted needed to be located in the UK, but I opted against it eventually. It was a pain in the ass to set up at the time, not as easy and obvious that I even had a dedicated IP, but maybe they have changed the process. It would also circumvent the issue with having a known VPN IP address.

Different folks. That being said even I'm getting annoyed with this provider having a laundry list of rules and is to be blunt, fat and ugly. There are literally women online I wouldn't accept money to bed down with and I'm more lenient than most on here. Lately I've been broadening the blast radius and offering a bit more donation to get some providers outside of the Raleigh area. I'm not as mobile as some others but leaving the 'homeland' to find something decent is starting to become the norm. Nord is still a far better VPN for many reasons.

Can't say if you will have better luck but should not cost any money to try.

Yep, I was out and about and decided to try to do something quick, so didn't do my research, which almost always results in a bad experience.

Getting around a VPN is hit or miss. When using a VPN to shop in this hobby, (a wise choice especially if the VPN has a "no logging policy") a host site like STG can block the connection to it by identifying the VPN node's IP address. For those unfamiliar, an IP address is a numeric internet address that is specific to any given website. (Think of it as a street address for a website on the Internet.) Keep in mind that all kinds of people use VPNs, good and bad, people doing banking, smart mongers like us, and hackers. When a site like STG blocks a VPN, they are most likely doing so because a hacker or someone else with malicious intent was doing something the host site network admin considered a threat. I observe this from time to time when I connect to STG, Tryst, and a few others.

How do you get around this? The better VPN services out there allow you connect through different node locations. Even though I am located in the Raleigh area, at it's default "fastest connection" setting, I get connected through a node physically (or virtually) located in Charlotte or Manassass. Keep in mind a location like Charlotte may have more than one node or set of IP addresses associated with it, which is why it seems you can connect on some days, and not others. If the site you are trying to connect to is blocked at the moment. Close out of your private browser window (incognito mode), disconnect your VPN, and reconnect from another node / VPN location. If you are using a shitty and free VPN, this will not work but with one of the better VPNs, this will work most of the time.

BTW. As a best practice, try to use a VPN in combination with your private browsing window. Happy mongering and be careful out there.
