You know the funny thing about all this is that in other countries our hobby is perfectly ok, regulated in some parts but ok. And another funny thing and example a country like Spain (which is quite religious BTW) apparently providers there on average charge about 100 for an hr which equates to about $. 2 and the practice is legal with little to no regulation even though now the prime minister is trying to illegalize the practice because "it enslaves woman". Just today's chuckle.

But not here, except for Nevada where you pay a fortune. Makes me want to return back to Colombia. Loved living on the beach checking out the Chicas. I can get the hottest girls, for far less and have a better time. Even the Playboy club is awesome there.

For the John:

First time: 1st degree misdemeanor.

Second time: 3rd degree felony.

Subsequent: 2nd degree felony.

For the girl:

First time: 2nd degree misdemeanor.

Second time: 1st degree misdemeanor.

Subsequent: 3rd degree felony.

So it is harsher for the John than the girl. But first offense is a misdemeanor in Florida. Texas will be the only state to make the first violation a felony.

Well stated, OS! Those penalties from Florida Statutes section 796.07 are all accurate, both start as misdemeanors, though the john starts one level higher than the provider, and then can become felony offenses with prior convictions. Making it even worse for the john, any offense that includes the use of a vehicle may lead to a 60 day immobilization of that vehicle. There is also a mandatory fine of $5,000. Additionally, on a second or subsequent conviction, there is a mandatory minimum requirement of 10 days in jail.

I didn't mean to insinuate one party was to blame. On the contrary, I tried to say that the political / legal system in this country is fairly united in their bipartisan efforts to decriminalize the actions of the providers while upping penalties on the consumers. This isn't unique to TX, FL, CA or NY. It is low hanging fruit for every one of them. An easy political win that few will dare criticize even if the effect of the laws are the opposite of the stated intent.
