I have to say I am very skeptical that the NB police got a 3rd party to get phone numbers and then they would have to work with (ie get a warrant) to confirm with the cell service providers. I am also very skeptical they could issues citations based on that. I'm no lawyer but that seems a bit of a reach for a citation (ie ticket). The cost of a third party could easily cost more than the citations. Do we know this really happened or is this just the rumors? Police have a habit of twisting the truth to get people to tell on themselves and that sounds more likely than a third party retrieving texts and them handing out citations based on it. That's like getting busted for an email to provider. How do they knew you really showed up? You could be ghosting them. Seems like a very flimsy case.

YES! If you're concerned about a burner phone being discovered at minimum get an app like Pinger or TextNow and a VPN. We've seen some of the risks of using your actual number from New Berlin Tiffany.

Another option might be contacting of all these out of state (and even local now) numbers with pics that are TGTBT. I have had a few instances of the Mexican cartel threatening me that if I don't pay, blablabla. Then they send a few pics from the internet. I would not doubt that some of the adds are just collecting numbers to sell to scammers who turn around and use them for stupid shit like this.

I wouldn't sweat it. It's obviously a scam to get money. Did the guy sound like he was from India? I heard the FBI is outsourcing their agents now. I got a call once said they were from the FBI and that I would be arrested in 45 min if I didn't fork over a couple grand. LOL.

I received a similar call recently. The minute he said Sargent Whatever from the FBI I laughed and said that's a good one and they hung up.

No law enforcement is ever going to call you and tell you to plead guilty and pay a fine over the phone that's not the way the legal system works, Sounds like a variation of that IRS tax scam they were doing last year where they'd tell you if you didn't pay a fine over the phone the police were going to come get you and take you to jail even the FBI has to follow the law don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise Even if law officer is standing in front of you telling you some b. S. Like that just keep insisting on seeing a lawyer because contrary to popular belief they are allowed to lie to you.

(he said I could google the number. I did. Nothing came up). He said I offered money over the text to "Chyna". They have her phone or data. (I don't remember offering someone money over text but at this rate I'm sweating bullets.). He said recorded line and said I could plead guilty and pay a 1000 to 1500 fine and needed to take a psyc eval. The call lasted 5 min or so. I denied everything. He seemed to be reading from a script and said the same things 2 or 3 times. It was kind of a blur. Finally I said I had to go and he said he will transfer me over to his supervisor. I denied everything and said I needed to talk to a lawyer. He said I would be guilty then. He said. I'm transferring you to my supervisor. As he did that. I hung up and blocked the number. I haven't received another call. Yet.

Sooo. Nervous to say the least. Any help or advise or what was this?

1st. Least you denied everything.

2nd. Offering anything via phone or text means nothing.

3rd. They have way bigger things going on that have nada to do with where you want to put your dick.

4th. Offering anything is nothing more than a local "in your town" ticket.

5th. Do not use your real #.

6th. Weather in person, in text, via phone call or in person. Play dumb and or you have no idea what when why who. And and Wrong fucking # scammer!
