SBG is correct, Colombia is an incredibly dangerous place for those of the Anglo-Saxon variety. Great hotels are available for +/- $120 a night, truly awesome places can be had for $200 or so depending on the season.

Colombia is not the cartel danger zone it was in the 90's and early 2000's. I actually have a home in Medellin and plan to retire there soon. There are some parts of Nashville I feel less safe in.
