I typed in my number into google search and it had my full name, address, age, family members, etc. The website's name is voterreccords. If you registered to vote they can pull that data and post all your info online. BEST thing to do is to contact them via their contact form and DEMAND the info be taken down. You will have to follow up since they tend to "forget" and leave it up. The next contact message should be "Let me contact your legal department since you don't want to remove my information".

Google your name and see if it has your info too, if so repeat the same process.

I've been using this app for awhile and it's pretty good. Outgoing calls and texts display a Google number from a server through which your calls are routed. Returned calls and texts come back through that number also and don't display your real number.

The problem with apps is that you now have to provide an email address. There was a time, you did not have to. I wonder if this has to do with their ability to track us now. Yes, you are correct--it's quite scary when you think of the layer of protection is not there.

I have not gotten any of this threat crap, but thanks for posting, a big thanks. By posting, other mongers who got the same bs now know they are not alone in getting the same. We all know it is bs, but we also know this is a crazy world and a lot of sick shit happen. Knowing it is crap does not stop one from being concerned when he gets a text like that. Your posting helps other mongers who got that crap feel a little betting by knowing it is widespread crap and thus feel more relieved. Not that they believed it in the first place, but still threats against one's family are un-nerving.

What you did by posting is the purpose of this forum. Letting other mongers know what is happening in our hobby world. This is what makes this forum so valuable to all of us mongers! Thanks again.
