I find it strange that only you was able to meet her the last few months.

I'm sorry to hear that. She's not normally like that, but she's been going through a lot of bs in her personal life and her anxiety has been through the roof. To the point I'm worried about her. I just got home from visiting her and today was fucked up for her too. Someday it'll calm down and when it does, she'll be back to her old self. And yes, I'm trying to help her make that happen.

I hope your efforts to "help her make that happen" are successful. Just be careful. Although you say you're friends and genuinely like each other there still may be a lot she isn't telling you. Anxiety through the roof that has you genuinely concerned gives me semi-PTSD recollections of an SB I had. I certainly don't know Shawna's situation to know if it really compares at all, but over time I came to realize my SB was a friggin train wreck who was losing the ability to flick that switch in her head to turn from a sobbing ball of anxiety to sweet, funny, laughing and singing & dancing to music that let her function in society and hold a waitress job. No amount of money could actually help her. No amount of comfort and assurances or guidance and advice (medical, financial, legal, tricks of my trade, real-world, learned from experience advice) and finding resources to help and even finding her a new job could help her. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. I got tired of bailing her out, literally and figuratively, from her messes when I finally realized it would never friggin end. A new catastrophe was surely around the corner.
