It appears that the increase in rates followed the stimulus check payment plus as the economy started to open up from the Covid stuff and salaries grew, the rates climbed up. Sex workers probably started to get two or three times more texts and phone calls, and they were able to command higher rates. Once the rates got high, it will take several months or more, depending on the economy, to start decreasing (kind of the lag effect should be expected). That's what may have happened, though I could be engaging in the post hoc reasoning.
