They're not.

But if a provider gets arrested, her phone becomes evidence.

If you message a provider, even if she deletes it, they can recover deleted messages.

If a phone number made incriminating texts, they will have IP addresses, MAC addresses, GPS coordinates, etc.

If a credit card was used to purchase said phone, they now know who bought the phone.

As said, nothing is fool proof. Everything can be tracked.

I know there have been some comments and questions on burner phones and apps.

First and foremost you should NEVER use your real number. Once that number has been recorded you are at extreme risk from Providers scamming and also LE.

Not matter what you chose to use in Law Enforcement eyes it is a CRIMINAL TOOL and if arrested you WILL be charged under that statue.

Using burner phones and apps are not 100 percent effective but at least it gives you a better chance for protection and you can delete an app and throw away a burner phone.

Also, NEVER use a credit card to purchase a burner phone. If they find it it puts direct blame on you.

Apps are usually free. Just remember to use a bogus email address to sign up.

Once again. NOTHING is 100% safe. Use your best judgment. Be ready stay vigilant.
