I am not really qualified since I have only seen Angela a few times. But IMHO "homely" is a little too harsh also. For you movie buffs think of Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction (1987). Bring $20's. If a place has a table shower, some places charge $10 for that, so bring a $10. Never expect to get change. So if hour with TS is $70 and you only have 20's, if you want a TS expect it to be 80.

Higher denominations can confuse them. Once went and had $50's and some $10's. Girl said $60 for house fee. Gave her a 50 and 10. She then said it was $60 for the hour. I said yes, what I gave you. She stared at the bills for a bit before figuring it out.

Bring the cash you anticipate you need plus maybe some extra. I carry a wad of eleven $20's and a $5 and $10 and put the assumed house fee in one pocket, my planned tip in another and the extra in a third. If service is exceptional, I tip higher than the norm. If the girl does heavy duty negotiation I may choose to just go for basic service. I tend to return to places where the girl or the house is smart enough to not ask for a tip.

But bringing your wallet potentially exposes more about you than you might like, especially if there is a table shower or what if it falls on the floor and you don't notice.
