Every phone has a unique equipment I'd. Every sim has a unique card I'd. These cannot be changed by any app. As soon as the phone is turned on, it automatically scans and connects to every cell it sees. That event is collected by the phone company. Any call made or received, the event (equipment I'd and card I'd and location) is collected by the phone company. If the phone moves or finds a new cell it automatically registers with that cell, that event is collected. It makes no difference how you bought the phone or paid for minutes or even what number you use. Multiple events chained together over time will associate that equipment to you. This is not rocket science, its not even that difficult. The only true anonymous phone is used only once standing very still, then never used again.

Great point. Burner phones are good for just avoiding detection by a spouse or significant other.
