I'm very familiar with energy markets, the only thing holding wind energy back in the country right now is the lack of available transmission lines from the corn field states in the midwest to the major metro areas. Wind can be built for about 40% of the current cost of running a 50 year old coal power plant. The issue is it takes roughly 8 to 10 years to build a 250 mile transmission line. Texas believe it or not is one of the world leaders in wind & solar because of costs, Rick Perry was a driving factor behind this because of how cheap wind energy is.

Georgia will close it's final 3 coal plants after Vogtle 4 comes online, Georgia power has already acknowledged this. The key decision in this was when JEA announced it's closing unit 4 of Scherer which it owns, not Ga. Power. It's just cheaper now to put up a 800 MW solar field for a $1 billion dollars "this was the actual cost for the last bid" than build a gas or coal plant. The forecasting is much better for investors as there isn't any fuel or labor costs.

My concern was never about who voted for whom, it was about trying to hold each of us responsible for posting "facts" that are actually true and not just spewing bullshit that supports your point of view. It's what I love about capitalism, the lowest cost better solution always wins. Have you ever seen the #'s on how much safer the self driving & lane assist modes are for Tesla? I've seen where the highest level was around 8 x safer than no self driving.

As far as on how many cars has Tesla sold? I'd say we are just starting to see their dominance compared to other car companies. Per Nissan's President, Tesla is at least 5 years ahead of us in all faucets. Everything Tesla has done over the past 15 years has been a leadup to what they are going to do over the next 5 years. First they have the new battery which is more energy dense, lighter, & significantly cheaper to product. I have seen around 15% lighter, & 15% more energy dense, plus the new manufacturing process is much simpler. Second, they have several new plants coming online both in China & Europe, both car & batter.

One of the reasons I am so impressed with Tesla is how they handled criticism & respond. A well known auto engineer who runs a 3rd party consultation business, tears down every model of car & writes a report for the manufacturer. He took the original model S apart & had 38 pages of criticism, from the way the body was welded to other minor trivial things in the car, but added to the weight complexity & just bad engineering. He recently looked at the new Model why, & noted how Tesla corrected all of the major issues plus improvements he didn't think of.

While you might not like the whole clean energy movement, put your bias & ideology aside. Look at what they have done from a business standpoint. Read up on them & then come talk.
