I spent a little time in Danny's this week for the first time in awhile. I go in every so often just to check out any new talent. Didn't see any really new ones, there were maybe 6 or so working and I recognized all of them. Things looked kind of slow but it was still early in the night (before 10 pm). Just to give the rundown to people that haven't been. VIP dances here are 25 dollars per song (in a somewhat open area with 8 or so couches, so you share a lapdance area with other girls & their customers) and the champagne room is 100 dollars for 3 songs. Danny's closes at 3 AM now but used to close at 2 AM. I was thinking beer sales stopped in Jackson at 2 AM, so I am not sure how they work around that. I guess they just go dry from 2 AM to 3 AM.

Anyway, I decided to get a dance from Roxxy, who has been working there for several years and who I've gotten dances from before. She's a young (mid-20's) cute & petite blonde. She was a little disappointed that I chose a VIP dance rather than a champagne room. At-best VIP dances. I kind of wonder if they have instructed the other girls to do this as well. Not go all out on a VIP dance but only on the champagne room dances and let the customer know that is where you have to go to get a good dance. It wouldn't surprise me. Danny's has had more of a hustle feel & upsell feel to it since Dax started managing and being very hands. On. Granted, he did improve the looks of the club & the dancers are certainly better looking than what was there 4 or 5 years ago but not everything is better, that is for sure. It might be awhile before I go back.

I was in Babe's recently too. Babe's doesn't have the quality of the girls that Danny's has (or the quantity, as I would guess Danny's has more dancers on an average night) but I still go sometimes because it is more laidback than Danny's. This is more of a blue collar club and there will be fewer patrons and less dollars to go around but that can work in your favor as a customer. The girls will be lower in quality, as there are some that really don't have any business dancing but I tend to just ignore those girls. Occasionally, you can find a gem in here. Typically, 80 percent of the girls here are a 7 or lower on the scale with the possibility of a couple of 8's on the right night. I do think the dances here can be better than Danny's, as its a little more private and the girls likely aren't making as much money so they are happy to have a customer spend some money on them.

It is a bit of a tossup between the two clubs. I like the (typically much) better looking dancers at Danny's but I hate having to deal with the constant upselling and requests for the champagne room that the girls do there. They tend to upsell more than the vast majority of strip clubs that I have been to. I know they (and Dax) want to make money but it gets to be a bit much. I also hate having to fight the crowds, as it can get pretty busy here, particularly on the weekends. I may just start going during the dayshift and see if that might be better. Obviously, it would be slower, so the girls would be likely to want to spend more time with the customers and might not upsell quite as much. I still like the atmosphere at Babe's, though the quality of the dancers tends to leave something to be desired. I haven't ventured into Black Diamonds but there are always a ton of cars there. I am not sure that I would care for the atmosphere there.

Refreshing to read a "tell it like it is" report on the clubs of Jackson. My sentiments coincide with this report, as an out-of-towner who enjoys the strip club fantasy.
