I once knew a guy.
Back in the day when he was visiting escorts and Backpage was still a thing, he in his ignorance texted a woman and set up to meet at a nearby hotel. In the course of texting the woman asked some personal questions like, "are you married", "do you have kids" . Asked for a pic of the guy etc. Him being new to the whole game divulged this info post-haste.
Upon arriving to the hotel, the man knocked on the door and to his surprise the woman that answered looked like the 50 something yo mother of the woman in the add. He entered the room being nervous as hell and checking the corners, bathroom as the military training kicked in on how to clear a room. When the woman saw how nervous he was she promptly planted a kiss on him and grabbed his crouch to put him at ease. She then grabbed her phone and texted someone, put her phone down and then proceeded to unlash the mans belt and drop his pants to his knees and go to work on his johnny.
Moments later the door flies open, a big man walks in an snaps a pic of the man standing there with is wanker at attention and the woman yell's something like "what are you doing here?" They act like they are husband and wife, and that he just busted her and they have a 30 second argument. The whole thing seemed too surreal.
The man proceeded to attempt to blackmail the "guest" and intimidate him to cough up $1500 to keep his picture from being plastered on the "internet". The guest immediately declined the offer and refused to give into the intimidation, grabbed his keys and left the room with the other man following him and talking to him all the way down the elevator, out the hotel to his car. The guest promptly left and didn't look back.
After a few days of receiving threatening texts they finally died off. Then came the surprise. The sheriff shows up at his house wanting to discuss the incident at the hotel. They tracked him down by using the information on the couples phones. The man was sure he was in trouble but as it turned out they we looking for information to convict the con artists as they had been blackmailing people for a long time and finally got busted. PHEW! Huge relief! He cooperated as much as possible, the couple ended up in jail and life goes on.
Lessons learned:
Never EVER divulge personal information.
Never let your vehicle be seen or photographed.
Always leave you personal belongings, wallet, phone etc. In the car when making a visit.
Trust no-one in the "hobby", even if you know them.
Do not under any circumstances give in to blackmail.
Check out references for any potential woman that you are considering visiting.
Just a few lessons learned the hard way, I play in the SB field and avoid escorts now but thought someone may find this helpful.
