I thought about updating my number to a local area code, but it worked fine prior to this pandemic.

Same experience here. Some of them will respond after couple of hours and some won't even attend the call. In addition there are many fake ads who will respond to you in a second through text LOL.

I am using local numbers and nothing better.

I gave her $60 and waited in her room. 20 min passed by and she didn't come back. Texted and called her but no answers. I walked out of the room and those dudes were walking back and forth around the stairs. I took a quick turn and took the elevator down. Got out as soon as I can. She still hasn't text back with explanation. I don't know these dudes would start something but she is definitely playing games now. Be very careful. I will not see her again, ever.

I would also agree to your point to avoid her. I contacted her and she said she is in Hilton near BWI. Once I reached there and asked for room number, she said she is yet to get her room and since she don't have her I'd with her, they won't give the room. And she asked me to go to Red Roof Inn. Once I reached there I noticed she getting out from a sedan and I was sure someone else was driving the car and she said she will try to get a room there. This time she said the hotel will not accept cash and she need to go to 7 eleven and load the card. When I met her in the parking lot, I felt like she is more into 40's and not like the one in the picture and I made my mind not to pursue further with her.

The excuse of Needing the money first to go down anywhere to pay the room is always bullshit. They can pay for the room when you're done. No one's coming up in the next 20 minutes to kick them out. That line will always be a bullshit line to the ditch out. If they ever ask for the money so they can go pay the room first just insist that they can pay it when you're done.
