Thanks BpysLicker and Winter Knight. I feel a lot better about this. I figured it was a manager trying to shake me down ras I received no second phone call from another number or voicemail. Income tax return scammers routinely spoof IRS phone numbers, so spoofing a local police phone number is likely simple. You did the right thing.
