Now the senior members here have been shaking their heads throughout most of this post and I'm finally catching on that I broke one of the cardinal rules again. Don't give the woman money until you're done or at least doing the deeds. And never let her leave the room with your cash.

So her little twist on the cash and dash was that after 5 minutes of her being gone, her partner uses a room key (hmmm, how's he got a key if she's still trying to pay for the room, yeah I'm an idiot) opens the door and comes in, asking who I am. I figure what the hell and tell him. We sized each other up, I had height, weight and reach and it looked like he wasn't carrying, but I don't need an altercation or the attention that draws, so he plays with his phone and supposedly texts and eventually tries to call her to ask where she is. Of course she doesn't answer. After about 5 minutes, he tells me he's got to go and I can't stay here to wait.

I agree, there's really nothing left to be salvaged here and any interaction with him isn't going to help me in any way, shape or form.

I text her on my way out, noticing no one at the front desk fixing charges and congratulate her and her partner on a well executed scam. She plays the "What are you talking about?" card. I relay to her the story up to now and of course I get absolutely no response from here and never did, now hours later.

So the seniors here don't just pontificate for the fun of it (well, maybe sometimes they do) they're telling us these stories / dreams to save the rest of us from these same situations and I ignored that good advice at my peril. Luckily my only loss was an hour of my time and a few dollars.

P.S. I see now that Kingoral put in a report last night that got approved later this morning, but I had already made my arrangements and never saw the post. Had I paid more attention to the advice of my elders, I wouldn't have needed his report. That situation would have played out differently. She would have been indignant and offended by my not paying her at the door, but I would have had my money and only wasted a little time.
