As someone stated in reply to these posts: Lack of education. That goes both ways - those who aren't aware of the risks of catching STDs and those who are not up on the level of risk "unsafe" sex provides. Yes, there are medical advancements. But also, most people are pretty bad at evaluating risks and managing risky behavior. Its a normal human tendency.

If one searches this forum, several years ago (5? 7? 10?) there was a dude who dug into the medical research and posted the "risks" associated with a male BBFS with an infected girl and the chances of contracting various STDs. What was surprising is that the "chances" (risks) of F2M transmission are quite low.

As a more recent poster noted, as long as the skin of your dick is in good shape, it is a pretty good barrier to entry by viruses and bacteria, etc. Of course getting up right after sex, urinating and washing your dick might help a small bit. But the point is one off with an HIV positive girl isn't going to be a 100% chance of getting infected. Transmission rates from female to male are VERY Low. Nurse at STD clinic told me that the cases of HIV+ they have seen are from someone who has regular repeated sex with and HIV+ person, not a one off, or drunken stupor fuck.

But hey, I recognize everyone has their own level of risk tolerance. That is fine. Everybody gets to chose for them self what risks to take or not.

But what gets me is that the government, in order to stop the spread of HIV in the early days, used scare tactics and that seems to have stuck around, even as medical study has advanced our knowledge. There is nothing out there that will kill you, provided you get proper medical treatment. Herpes and AIDS are manageable chronic diseases these days. Not a death sentence. But again, everyone is free to operate based on their "beliefs" and prejudices with or without upping what they "know" about the subject.

Shoot the CDC even has a "risk estimator tool" available one can use. LOL! That is a start in upping one's education.

Even though DI provides CFS, it is still possible to get genital herpes, warts from vaginal fluids or skin-to-skin contacts. Plus, BBBJ can be a reason for some STDs. Bareback is good but when thinking about the number of the guys having sex with those ladies, its seems impossible to me that they are STDs free.

Is the fact that the major risk of exposure is borne by the receiver and not the giver. In the case of someone who has some sort of skin abrasion on his penis, there are exceptions to this rule. However, bodily fluids must enter the system of one's partner, and the best chance of that happening comes from tiny tears in the rectum which can be caused by anal sex. If the skin on your schlong is fissure-free, you're fine. If you tore that ass up and are HIV positive, she's the one who needs to worry. Short of either of those two things being the case, there's no issue here.

I've seen it before and I'm sure I'll see it again. It never fails. Someone mentions STD and before you know it everyone is chiming in with symptoms that more often or not are psychosomatic and then making accusations with innuendos without naming names like the media with "reliable sources". I also had some symptoms recently and tested positive. Just finished my treatment, a shot and a week of antibiotics orally twice a day. Symptoms have cleared up but I'm going to wait a while longer and get tested again before seeing anyone. Lots of free clinics that offer testing and treatment if you don't want to pay for it. Pretty sure the majority of people who do BB don't get tested unless they have symptoms. I'm staying away from BB providers for awhile.

But if you test positive for some STD and get well again, you just go right back in with BB? It sounds like an endless cycle and just relying on modern medicine to allow for peace of mind to go back in only to get re-infected again. Medication shouldn't be your justification to keep doing what you're doing. There has got to be some reasoning in all of us that you do not want to pick up an STD for a second, third or even fourth time and telling yourself that pills and shots will make everything ok. At some point, your doctor or the free clinic should be saying, "Back again? What the fuck is going on with you?" .

I am not preaching anything here. Go and be happy. But in the grand scheme of things, take care of yourself first and foremost.
