LB is a ghost town for the hobby. A couple AMPs popped up recently, but given the city's history they won't last long. Torrance has some AMPs. You can research on here for more info, but you won't find any Caucasians there. A young Caucasian is a tall order around here. The only way you're going to get that is with an independent, and even that is dicey. Your best bet is probably Havana in Downey. They have hot girls of various races. The best girl up there is Melanie who's a white / Filipina mix. Super hit and nice. But you won't get more than a nude HJ there. Haven't been there in months, new management seems to be setting in. New deco, menu and attitude. The tick black doorbuster is still there, only without mask.

She told me the sessions now start with. 99 for hhr and 1. 4 for hr. No chance to even choose the therapists now since they're now "pure therapeutic". I didn't get a chance to stick around and find out.

Any westside mongers tried it recently? Would love to know if it's still worth the jacuzzi fee.

Tried there twice, decent white / Latina girls, easily getting naked and has shower after you're done. Needs appointment these days it seems.

The mentality in the state has always been to leave regulation and enforcement of massage businesses up to the individual cities. As long as they aren't deemed a public nuisance and getting a lot of complaints, what happens in there is controlled. They know if they bust them it's like playing whack-a-mole. It will just pop up elsewhere and possibly in a place that's harder to control, like cheap motels.

Going forward, the state legislature wants licensing, and the industry wants licensing. But they don't want it controlled by bureaucrats. We already deal with that on the esthetics side and it's a gigantic pain in the ass. The bill that's on the assembly floor right now is pushing for licensing. The bill that established the certification has expired. We (the industry) want to give the certification a 2-year extension to allow us to work with the lawmakers to establish something more mutually beneficial.

So. It's only a matter of time. Increased regulation is going to happen, if not this year then a couple years from now. It may be a license, or it may be a requirement that all cities statewide mandate the certification. Either way, it will make things a lot harder for MPs.

That being said, the state doesn't seem to have much appetite for enforcement at that level. They want to impose the restrictions and leave enforcement up to cities. So I predict that certain cities will still be hotspots for MPs. Some current hotspots may dry up though.

Right now, the state recognizes roughly 350 massage schools. Some of those are pretty crappy schools with pretty poor curriculum and little to no oversight. The agency that administers certifications only recognizes about 75 of those schools, the ones that meet their minimum curriculum criteria, similar to what universities do for accreditation. It is entirely possible that the state implements a licensing structure and keeps their full list of 350 schools. That would leave an opening for people practicing at the "hobby" massage parlors to pretty easily receive a license and continue business as usual. If the current bill pushes through the way it's written, that's exactly what will happen - you won't see much change if any at all. But what is more likely is the decision to go to licensure gets delayed 2 years and something more restrictive takes its place during the next round of negotiations with the legislature.

Bottom line is almost all states have MPs. Some of them suck and some are just as good as or better than here. Phoenix for example - Arizona is a state with a massage license, yet there's MPs all over the place like it's the wild west, and they're no more expensive than here and provide just as good if not better service. So it's not all gloom and doom, but expect to see some sort of landscape change, however that plays out. My prediction is certain cities kicking MPs out and certain other cities continuing to not give a crap as long as they remain mostly under the radar.
