Went to a late night stroll on Sat. Night, since the weather's been amazing there were still a lot of people out on the streets even till 3 4 am. Don't let being naive give you the surprise of the day. TBH LEO is everywhere on the stroll. Just because you don't see them does not mean they don't see you. There are many many uniformed and plainclothes units around. In addition to that, there are foot patrols and bike patrols. Undercover units are everywhere. They watch the area like a dog watches a bone. Many stay in the shadows as they don't want to give their presence away without cause. They drive cars taken from dealers or others involved in the activity in that area. So, they could be directly behind or next to you and you wouldn't have a clue.

If you want to avoid interaction with LEO simply act normal. Don't act like you are at a sideshow at the carnival. Don't stare at every woman that is around. They don't all work. Some may even be selling for the dealers. The dealers do not want you looking for or trying to pick up pussy on their blocks. Mess with them and you will find yourself in more of a confrontation than you may want to be in.

I have seen dozens of confrontations on that stroll. Individually they are mostly a bunch of pussies. When they get into a confrontation they come out of the woodwork. They all jump on one person. Just my opinion but you are likely to see no difference, you will see Police in both locations but their primary focus is on drug dealing. Only once (I'm shamed to admit this, in 20 years) have I seen police activity aimed at your local friendly service provider. Common sense should prevail, obey the traffic laws, don't do you turns in the middle of the block, use your traffic signals when turning and don't make it obvious. As to the last point, make eye contact and then turn off the main drag and allow your provider to walk up to your car. I tend to be overly cautious so I will pass by a provider at least once to make sure there isn't a cop 30 feet up the road that I didn't see and come back on a 2nd pass to make sure it is safe.

Good luck on your hunt, I about given up on Broadway in Camden for lack of choices and K Ave has been hit and miss lately. There will be a day when the government free checks will stop and maybe then the providers will come back to the streets and make it interesting again.

These are very good tips. One of my tips is always drive a good distance from where you pick up a SW. I drive a minimum of 10 blocks or 1 mile or more. Drive on empty streets. This makes it much harder for LE to follow you without being spotted. It is also a good idea to try and find a area that you can enter from one direction only. This reduces the amount of traffic passing by.

Everyone has what works for them! Me? I shy away from "box canyons" or one way in situations. LE comes down that one way in; you are trapped. Same thing if a local with a baseball bat (or some other kind of trouble) comes down the street. I prefer a place where there are a couple of escape routes, but that' just me. YMMV.
