I've never been accused of being a genius by anyone, and I've made my fair share of mistakes in life. At the time I couldn't risk this being just a random text. Stupidly, I put on blast to my family that someone was trying to extort money from me. Forcing me to pay up or they would share unfavorable information about me. Yes, universally stupid but I felt at that point I had to go nuclear. This crazy ***** called me by name and I found out very quickly that my info was overly exposed online so it could be just a matter of time before my wife and kids starting receiving random texts.

At the time, Drea had a TextNow number using the "numlookup" website. Clear as day said it was owned / operated by TextNow. So, I did what I thought was appropriate at the time and contacted the site and showed them the messages. I wanted that account shut down, a series of numbers including my own and family members blocked from being contacted by "any" TextNow number, and I would file a police report. And I did just that. Within 2-3 days TextNow informed me that my number and the other numbers I provided were now blocked from the service and could not be contacted by any user of the service. My phone number was permanently changed and I had filed a police report. Now, could this have opened up a can of worms? You betcha.

I have a history of bipolar issues and much to my chagrin, my wife has known for years things I have done in the past when I "wasn't in my right mind" and has opted to let go of anything I've done. So this incident with Drea was as much a scare as it was a life saver. I know now that I either need to stop the hobby entirely or out of respect for my family distance myself and let me go down the path I started decades ago and leave them out of it for good.

I personally believe this "Drea" needs to learn her (or his for that matter) lesson not to fuck with people like that. You never know who is on the other end of the line. It could be a cop, a criminal, or a mentally ill person with bad intentions. The hobby can be unsafe enough already, but to do shit like this to people is flat out unacceptable. I would love to teach this ***** a lesson they wouldn't forget. Then again, I enjoy eating three meals a day and living indoors.
