Dumb-Ass Fauci keeps saying that even when fully vaccinated your can still catch, carry, and or transmit the virus. You are just better protected from dying from it or being hospitalized. I can go on and on. Yes, people died, many of whom had a lot more extensive health conditions than I do. I do not get the flu shot either and I do not get the flu. As I stated previously, there are health care workers who refuse to get it until it is fully vetted and permanently approved by the FDA. I have close friends who are Doctors and other medical folks who have no intent of getting the vaccine right now either since we do not know the long term effects.
My brother, in his 60's, type 0 Negative, very mild case, back to work within 2 weeks. Our sister and her husband, both type 0, recently tested positive for the antibodies even though they never had any symptoms.

Well, everything that has happened over the last year has shown me otherwise from what you insist is true. You have zero credibility precisely because you deny what most of us can plainly see as fact happening right in front of us. Your fierce denials of reality are incredulous to the point that one suspects that you don't really believe what you post and instead just enjoy fucking with us.

Posts: 757Please cite your reference. I only ask because several other cites FROM THE CDC contradict your post.

No, according to the CDC approximately 40 k people have died from Covid, another 500 k died from heart attacks, cancer and other diseases. They may have contracted covid but that isn't what actually killed them. Again hospitals get paid an extra 7500 bucks for ever death cert. That has covid on it.

Posts: 2351I'm inclined to believe that trump early last spring decided to buy into the ridiculous "herd immunity" approach, and decided to deliberately let the virus infect millions in hopes that it would burn out and disappear.

So many of trump's public comments (saying it was a minor infection no worse than the flu, predicting it would be gone by the time of summer weather, insisting that one day it would magically evaporate, etc) suggest that is what he was believing. He brought Scott Atlas in because he reinforced that view, instead of having to listen to "real" scientists.
For trump, it was an attractive approach. As someone who didn't actually believe in a working government, it wouldn't require mobilizing scientific and health agencies to respond, it would not necessitate economic shutdowns (indeed, sending people back to work would speed up the process of millions acquiring the virus), and it fit with the Ayn Randian "everyman for himself" kind of philosophy that has underlined Republican thinking for ages. And it explains why he resisted even simple steps like masks. Objecting to anything that would slow down viral spread.
In following this strategy, trump killed hundreds of thousands needlessly. It was intentional, he was warned of the consequences by his experts but he did it anyway. It goes beyond mere "negligence" into predictable and intentional infliction of suffering. There should be some kind of "war crimes"-type accountability for a leader who commits Pandemicide on a scale of this magnitude with between 500,000-900,000 COVID deaths in the U.S. alone.
FWIW, A new study from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation(IHME) has a new number for U.S. deaths due to COVID: 905,289.

Posts: 654I see you won't acknowledged that the disease can and has killed hundreds of thousands of Americans who would've otherwise lived this year and is not "just the flu" before moving the goalposts to a completely different argument?

Its something you do not to protect yourself necessarily but to protect those around you, like a mask, and not doing so firmly communicates that you don't give a shit whether your grandma or your neighbor that has diabetes die a slow painful death because you couldn't comply with basic healthcare standards.
And while yes its true that Covid-19's direct personal threat to youth is pretty low:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...ge_3.30_p1.jpg
Covid-19 has nevertheless reportedly killed 2,125 Americans aged 18-29 and 6,165 Americans aged 30-39.
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm
The Johnson and Johnson vaccine might have killed one person, for which America discontinued its use for some time. The Astra-Zeneca vaccine is not allowed in the USA for largely the same reasons. Which serves as a reminder that the authorities take the risk of vaccine side effects very seriously. With millions of doses being delivered, even rare 1 in a million side effects should start to be detectable. Its clear that even if you are young, and even if you are unlikely to catch Covid-19 due to the pandemic finally beginning to wind down, it is still probably safer to get the vaccine.
