Never, ever send your driver's license, especially a photo of you holding it. Too many guys have been busted for doing that there was some good replies to your question though. I know someone who occasionally sends a business card that he picks up at a trade show. I assume it is from a competitor or someone who he is not on good terms with.. He calls it "fun with wh0 res". Just sayin'.

I stay away from sending that kind of info to anyone over the internet. To me its not worth it, but then again, a picture of a Drivers License can be easily made up in photoshop. So can a fake phone number to a fake company that you work for along with a profile on Linkedin and facebook. I mean, at the end of the day, how much effort do you want to put into it?
