I rather live in the Philippines. I vibe with the people better there. Cheap but not super cheap as Americans claim. You can't get by on $500/ month now. You need at least $1000 or more and that's average living borderline comfortable. Most pinoys don't make enough there to buy a whopper meal for 300 pesos. A jollibee meal can cost over 100 pesos. Food is already a 1/4 their salary.
The minimum wage is 7-10 dollars in Luzon. 580 p in Manila City per day. Electricity and gas rate, cars, electronics, everything is more expensive there for filipinos but for us it's ok.
Real estate is expensive in Manila makati. A condo unit can cost over a million dollars for a 2-3 bedroom condo. Definitely not cheap in the city. You can buy a whole apartment building for that price. If I could pick I would go to visayas area its cheaper.

The issue with Philippines is poor infrastructure, poor health care, and also getting hit by typhoons often. Retirement visa / permanent residency is far easier and cheaper than Thailand, but real estate is similar. Makati and BGC areas have some absurd pricing, just like certain parts of Bangkok. Other provinces not as bad for housing, but are worse in other areas. Cost of living is one thing, but getting older and needing health care and stability, I don't think I would live in the Philippines full time. Malaysia is awesome though, slightly more expensive for food, but everything is top notch in Kuala Lumpur. Personally, I'll probably end up in Malaysia or Thailand with trips to the Philippines.

There can we find decent job that can guarantee secured luxury condos for local riches? We know how rich Indian riches are, how much SE no brained son of super rich could spend for one night pleasure. American may be the cheapest for American who can not get jobs there.

Theres a plot twist on that nuuanu home the owner had complaints that he was running his home as an illegal short term rental. Freakin mainland haole not one local owner. I found out the house is worth over $3 million. That fucka get money. The girl screaming was probably the tenant or relative, who knows. That girl sounded like one karen was irritating hearing her when I saw the tape on the hawaii news article. So many unanswered questions and assumptions on this case.
As HiPickle said he was no criminal I will take his word. He never needed to be shot though. I like know what the actual complaint was from that karen screaming and what she actually saw. She could be exaggerating being under duress. Something doesn't sit right with the people in that house.
