1. What is the etiquette on using someone for a reference? Can you just text them and ask if it's alright? Is it rude (technically you're asking them to support you to go to competition I guess)?

2. Can you get into AG with just 1 reference? I've definitely had my eyes on getting into the agencies, but I thought the path would have to be something like: see providers - get enough okays / refs for Josephine / Lixa - use those twos refs for AG. Since they used to be agency girls (or so I'm told). I guess basically I was under the impression that the only people the agency cared about for refs were either other agencies or former providers associated with them. Also can you just use P411 okays, or does it need to be the full ref sorta deal (name, number, email, website, etc)?

Always ask permission from providers if they're willing to be your reference. From personal experience, I've asked maybe five or six girls (since 2013) if they minded being a reference. Just a simple email in which I asked that they answer questions from whichever agency I was applying to. Only one ignored my request while the others enthusiastically agreed. So no worries about coming across as rude just by asking. If they say no or ignore you, cool beans. You could sweeten the deal by seeing them again as a thank you, but it's hardly a requirement. Just be upfront, polite, and respectful.

As for applying to AG and the other K-girl agencies in the DMV--be aware that everyone's application experience is varied. Some take longer to get back to you than others. With AG, they let me aboard with two references, an old college I. D. And email (which I've still got access to satisfy their "work" check), my license, and a screenshot of my credit card.

Here's the deal with PII--you can (and should) redact most of your shit. If memory serves me right, I showed my first name, city of residence, photo, and that's it! Never any part of your license number, nor any part of the credit card number, and certainly not your full address. Ultimately, we all have our limit regarding what information we're willing to share in this hobby. But I strongly encourage that everyone shares the least amount possible. And if they insist on getting the unredacted versions compared to what I just described for myself in 2019, then you ought to stand your ground and find another agency.

And as for P411, I'm not sure if that flies with every agency. Check with AG's screener (or whichever group you're applying to) and they'll tell you if they accept okays from P411. Hope this is helpful, cheers!
