Visited Asia Spa on Escondido Blvd recently. Wasn't going to, never been, but I drove by and figured what the hell. .5 for the room, and mamasan had me fill out a name and the date on a sheet of paper. She never asked if i'd been there before (I guess she checks the list of fake names in the back). I like having a shower first but never having been there I didn't even try.

Lisa was the masseuse. She gave me a mediocre massage. It was sensual but she didn't really work the muscles but the service was full-filling. Tip was $. She let me set the price and I doubled the door. Should have aimed lower but I don't like haggling. She was nice, very soft skin, but somewhat robotic.

Just visited Sunset Acupressure & Massage on 1911 Sunset Dr/Escondido Blvd. (Ad in SD Reader). I walked in 9:30 am and asked for 2 girls. Mama-san more than accomodating.

She got me a small room, a real door, no windows, and wall to wall mirror. She got the sauna going and heated the water for the body shampoo. CoCo and JJ, the two MT's, are attractive mid 20's korean wih TIGHT and PETITE body. Generous lather and very talkative.

That having the standard stuff billed to a card is fine with the AMP. It makes them look legit and all but putting extras means (a) it looks like something beyond legitimate massages is going on (b) it's harder to split between the house and the provider.

Even waitresses prefer cash as they can declare low or no tip and lie to the IRS. It shouldn't be a surprise an AMP is unhappy with the idea.

Man, what a ripoff.

Friends went to Ginza Spa in PB on Bond Street last weekend, told me it was good but WAY overpriced (prepare to spend atleast 200 minimum for a freaking HANDJOB).

So last night I decided to try it. Friends told me they paid EVERYTHING, including tips, with credit card. So I went there with no cash.

Got in, rude lady on the door. Started giving me crap about no cash and charged me extra 10% for using debit card. KEEP IN MIND SHE KNEW I HAD NO CASH ON ME AT THIS POINT.

So I paid $90 for a body shampoo and a 30 minute massage. That's what I paid for. 45 minutes total.

After a 30 minute wait in the room with just a robe on, a skinny, rather unnattractive girl called Pink walks in and immediately start touching me inappropriately (hello? I could be a cop?). She rushed me to the shower room, you lie down on this plastic bed and she washes you with soap and scalding hot water. Pretty unenjoyable since the water was so hot. She was totally not into what she was doing and was pretty mechanical.

Shower took like maybe 3 minutes max. We went out and dried up and put my robe on, then went back to the room.

This is where things went downhill:

Remember two things here:

1) I paid already for a shower (which I got), plus 30 minutes of a massage. Paid and done for.

2) The lady who charged my card knew I had no cash on me.

As soon as we walk in room after shower, she just hesitates when she sees my reciept on the desk next to us, and she seemed upset it was a debit card. I told her not to worry as I'll pay extra with the card too, tips and all, like my friends did. She said in barely passable English something about having to use different cards, etc, and there is a minimum $20 tip FOR the regular massage THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR.

Haggled for like 5 minutes, no massage yet. Finally I just had it and started to get dressed. I tried to be polite and start small talk, but then she got rude, and pointed to the wall, telling me how it says $20 minimum TIP. I looked on the small sign, nothing about CASH ONLY or HAVE TO USE DIFFERENT CREDIT CARD EACH TIME. Nothing.

So I just left, they didn't even show me to the door. I was PISSED. I basically paid $90 for a 3 minute scalding hot body wash. Everyone was rude and obnoxious, and the lady KNEW I had no cash and thus couldn't even pay the minumum $20 "tip" for the REGULAR MASSAGE.

Bottom line? Forget menu prices, add atleast $20 to what it says because its not a "tip" if its REQUIRED.

I'm pretty pissed and might call the cops on them and give the cops a tip.

Quoted for truth. While I have yet to experience the AMP scene, what you describe is certainly the case in mexico. One streetwalker will charge you 30 bucks and will be like a dead fish, while you might find a nice girl for 20 and she is having fun with you.

I'm curious whether I should come into the AMP with a set amount of cash, or do they charge you by credit card?

Now I just need some reviews of a few places I found up here in north county:

Some places may take credit cards, I do not know. But I would not recommend using a credit card. First, there will be pressure on you to spend more, and a temptation to so when the little head takes over the thought process. Also, if the place gets busted, a credit card leaves a paper and electronic record. So just bring cash, as much as you want to spend. You'll pay $50-$60 door fee, and from $20-$200 for extras.

I am not familiar with the places you mention in North County. There was a place at 9th and Escondido Blvd. In Escondido that used to be very good, but I do not know if its still open. If so, see if Erica still works there.- she was very good.

Your best bet is to come south.- Sakura on Miramar Rd. , the places in PB (Ginza, etc.) or the other places reviewed on the board. Good luck and post a report after your trip.

Don't pay with a credit card. This is not the type of transaction you want to have a record for. Just bring whatever amount of cash you want to bring. Be prepared to pay the prices quoted on this board.

Chukichz raises once again the long-standing debate that has been going on for years on these boards. I have been mongering for more than 20 years, and have been to AMP all over the US, so I am pretty experienced. Here's my take. First, I do not think what one monger pays (whether too high or low) has that much impact on what the girls demand. As long as you proceed on that basis that the girl is going to try to rip you off and get as much as possible, you have the right attitude. They all ask for more than we should pay. $200 seems to be the standard opening demand these days, but good FS is available for $ or less.

Each monger has to make an individual decision based on ability to pay, level of horniness, quality of the girl, etc. Just because I may pay $80 for FS does not mean that other mongers can get the same price. Or if I agree to pay $200 (which I never would), that doesn't mean other mongers won't get a better price. Ultimately, in my experience, price is dictated by two things: if the girl has had a slow day, price will be better, and vice versa. Also, if you have treated the girl kindly and with respect and she thinks you'll be a repeat customer, price may be lower.

For me, I am willing to pay more to a girl I see regularly who has proven to me that she gives superior service. The harder negotiation is with a new girl who has the potential to be a regular, excellent provider.- I hate to lose out on the potential for high quality, repeat service just because I was cheap the first time out, but I also do not like getting ripped off. Ultimately, each monger has to set his limit and stick to it.- eventually, by visiting a few places, each will find a provider that matches his financial and service expectations.
