You can show up with money. but the very minute you take it out and put it on a desk, table, etc. or even if you just take it out of your pants for a split second or two (and show it) and then slip it back in, you are fair game. One of my buddies got busted about a month ago right around Thanksgiving when Howard County police did another one of their infamous setup stings using a fake listcrawler ad...Fortunately for him, it was his first time and he paid $500 in fines and got probation but has take online courses dealing with prostitution, solicitation, human trafficking, etc. Sucks that those who are supposed to "serve and protect" us have nothing better to do with our tax dollars then setup and entrap people during this pandemic.

I know I got some flak earlier but as shooter mentioned, we all have our way of doing things and was just sharing mine. I definitely feel better about doing things my way especially after seeing something like this. In about a decade before I more or less retired 95 percent of the time always went the route of not talking about literally anything and having them coming to my turf or meeting on neutral ground and going through a full dinner date at a bar first before going to either turf. Went to a hotel a total of two times, because it was someone I had known for forever. I get that a lot of you on this board wouldn't want to waste the time to go through the effort of doing something like this or simply don't have the time. But think about it, are they really going to sit down with you for an hour or two and have dinner and convo with you and waste that much time in the hopes you'll give them something to make an arrest? And if by some low chance they were to go through those steps I'm sure you notice a wire. I would say the odds are astronomically low. I'm fortunate enough to be a divorced 40 year old guy with no family and have the time on my hands to go through those full motions and I can tell you I've met some awesome people over the years rather then it being a quick meeting and I've never had a bad time. I've ran the scenario through my head many many times if I were to get caught up in a bad spot and came to the conclusion that if something happened to me like that I'd fight it tooth and nail until I got it down to a reduced charge. And agreed with the other guy. If there was no other option I'd do 30 days in jail before taking ANY amount of probation any day of the week. Small amounts of jail time (60 days or less) is nothing. Eat for free for a few days and them I'm out ha. I did 20 days for something stupid many years ago and it was a cakewalk. Got it dismissed ultimately also. The way they are defining it these days is nothing more then control, what consenting adults do its nobody business. I remember watching a TV program and some self righteous disgusting female VICE cop was grilling this older woman asking how long shed been doing this like its any of her business what an adult in their 50's does. Said something along the lines to the men of "getting arrested was the best thing that could happen to you. " BS. I've only ever had one incident happen to me over the years, I got robbed. Ill take the one robbery that I was a victim of on the cheek over dealing with any of the LEO trying to control mine and other adults' lives. Makes me sick. Who knows, maybe the pigs' next step in mass control will be outlawing dating and taking a woman to a bar or out for golf. Absolutely one of the most ridiculous and pointless laws on the book and the men and women lives they have destroyed prosecuting it is the real crime here, and I'm sure they gotten very few actual trafficking victims in the process while destroying taxpayers lives and the lives of women trying to get by. Just another example of the fact that they make arrests to make arrests to fuel their for profit prisons and could care less what real crime is actually going on. Another note to take mention of here though is Howard County. Places like that are notorious for having nothing better to do. Go to a place like B more though and your odds decrease significantly unless your going after SW. I may be paranoid, I maybe super cautions, but hey, none of this is meant to be taken as Gospel, just showing you my point of view in all of this and I hope y'all got something out of it. My lawyer talked them down to one year unsupervised probation State countered provided I let the charging papers be read off in court I guess that was their way of saying oh we can't get you for 60? Well we just have the papers read to embarrass your azz. My lawyer came to me told me what was going on I said f88 k it let them do it beats sitting a cell and plus the probation ended after only six months I never knew why.

Without going to deep, given my life style at the time, I could not do a probation time successfully. When I went to court for my DUI they read much of what I said to the cops, like " where have you been?" I said none of your fucking business or when asked "What have I been doing?" I said jerking off.

I bet that dude took a plea bargain and didn't stand trial. I was offered a plea deal with loads of community service and told the ADA to stick it up their ass. I went to court and got "time served", the 3 hours I spent in central booking, no probation or anything else. I would have preferred 60 days to years of probation but it didn't even get that far. The state's attorney was pissed.
