The attitude as you mentioned is a big issue over there, many carry themselves as if they are doing you a favor and have zero understanding of what customer service is. The few decent providers are at least smart enough to fake it and make the session worthwhile.

That has been my biggest issue with that site and why I switched to the SBs a couple of years ago.
