I agree 100%. The ICU situation now is awful- and getting worse. Burnout with hospital staff has become a problem too. We are living through a very dark period, one that will likely get worse before it gets better.

Posts: 949Usually you give me a chuckle, but allow me, once again, to mention: The longterm effects of COVID are still being discovered, the virus is mutating, and the vaccine will take ten years to roll out at the current distribution rate. ICU's are at capacity (which by the way think about that: they don't give you an ICU bed cuz of the view), and hospital workers are on an "All hands on deck" status. If anyone here was working in that situation, I'd be very surprised if they shared new ways to make their job even more insane.

Posts: 119Being in lockdown for nearly a year now is quite demoralizing. Some AMPs seem to be operating UTR but I guess it's harder now to gauge what talent is still available. Kinda bummed out I didn't get a MMS's personal number because when I called an AMP a few weeks ago and it just went to voicemail.

I think this pandemic is fake af. I wear the mask out of courtesy, but I don't believe it protects anyone's health. As for places that are open, there are some places in Torrance that are covertly open.

I am kind of disappointed in these MPs. They could be hosting sub rosa and caveat monger on the rona. But the whole crew is superstitious AF and think that by closing shut and depriving mongers of much needed fingers up the ass, somehow they are flattening the curve. Nonsense. All they are doing is causing backlogs that will ripple through the systems forever.

Posts: 87How's everyone faring these days? It seems all my past usual joints are either not picking up the phone or just straight up closed for now in the Ktown-ish area.
Even if they were open are you guys still chancing it out there? I'm getting a bit restless but at the same time I guess its better that I don't get out there too much?

Anyone knows where she disappeared to? She used to be in DT, a true gem. She was kind of awesome and she alone lowered the average age of providers in the city by 3 years at least. Vanished all of a sudden, if anyone has info, much appreciated.

Posts: 725It depends really. Some cities like Cerritos for example, you will never find an AMP there. They are extremely conscious of what businesses they allow to open in the city, and literally every business faces intense scrutiny before getting approval. La Palma next door had 4 AMPs for a while, one of them jn a medical building next to the hospital right next door to a doctors office. They were around for years before someone in city hall finally figured out it was a rub & tug a d closed it down, and went after all of the others in the process. Even then it was never a law enforcement operation- they just revoked their business licenses. Downey has 4 or 5 MPs and most of them have been there 20 years or more. That's one of those cities that's more lax with massage regulations and knows full well what goes in inside those places, but doesn't really care as long as they keep to themselves and don't get complaints from neighbours.

This all may change in a couple years. The industry is lobbying for an official state massage license. The government has resisted it all these years because they don't want to spend the money in the infrastructure it would require, but the current massage therapy bill that established the voluntary certification is due to sunset (actually it already did but it got extended due to Covid), so very soon Sacramento will have to either extend the current setup or replace it with something else, and most of the industry wants a state license instead of city by city regulation. We will see how it plays out.
