I don't know about others but I never pay upfront or before a date, the date / coffee is a get to know so there are no expectations on either side, if we hit it off, then the next meet is where things happen. This is of course if I hadn't already made arrangements prior. Just be upfront and set expectations. If you read SA. You feel like the next generation is full of go-getters and that this country is really going to prosper.
