I've only seen one provider so far this year and didn't get COVID. Then again, I may have had it earlier this year, just a few weeks before it was declared a pandemic. I got some mystery respiratory bug which made me sick for about three days. If it was COVID, I'm grateful it was only a glancing blow. One reason I was laying low until recently is that I'm over 60 with a couple of health issues, one of which resulted in a brief hospital stay nearly a year ago.

Independent references may actually be better for you if they're more likely to respond to the agency doing the screening. Respectfully, I feel like you were too paranoid. You could've just told the agency that you had parked in the correct spot and proceeded from there. I've parked in unmarked / non-visitor spots countless times without incident. I think doing so for an hour or so presents little risk of towing or fines, especially if the community is gated.

My experience is the opposite of yours in that most of my experience is with agencies and I'm a novice when it comes to crapshoots. What happened to you happens to me all the time when it comes to parking. Half the time the code the agencies gives doesn't work and / or visitor parking is hard to come by. I don't know how the set up is at BAL, but at other agencies, when I see another car behind me, I just move and circle behind them and follow them right in. Though a lot of times, I am very lucky and I literally get there as the gate is either still open or as a car is just entering, so I just drive in. After entering, I'll drive in a roundabout way to another location and after a little while proceed to the actual location. As for visitor parking, if I can't find any, I'll try and park in an area that isn't too full, even if I have to walk for a bit. At one location, I was parking in non visitor areas for about 2 years and never had any trouble. Of course, now I'm a little more paranoid so I try and park in visitor areas if I can.
