I agree. There are two reasons that South Korea has been so successful:

1. Their about the size of Indiana, give or take.

2. Koreans are naturally nosy as shit, so contact tracing becomes easy when they can dedicate small armies of healthcare workers to track people down and test them. Can you imagine trying to do contact tracing on everyone in the US? The one and only reason countries around the world have gone into full lock down mode is to prevent their health care facilities from being overwhelmed. People, this is not complicated, this administration by letting the coronavirus surge through the U.S. population with minimal testing, minimal social distancing and encouraging minimal face mask wearing has allowed the U.S to become the world's largest experiment in herd immunity. We shall see how this experiment in herd immunity works out.

I think you're sadly misinformed, even if you do speak from a position of absolute enlightenment. Full lock down mode has certainly not been about preventing overwhelming the hospitals in this country. Witness the way Georgia was so roundly criticized by the rest of the country, despite the fact that its hospitals were never overwhelmed. Witness the way CA and Washington state prohibited people from even going outdoors (even giving tickets for going fishing of all things!), even though their hospitals were never overwhelmed. Witness the way Sweden has been so roundly criticized when their hospitals were never in jeopardy of being overwhelmed.

Notice too that countries with similar falls in GDP have witnessed very different death rates. For instance, compare the US and Sweden with Denmark and Poland.
