Posts: 2337The buck stops with the President......
FYI, I voted for Trump in 2016, however this is my blunt assessment of Trump, He's a petty, petulant coward who should be locked in jail for the rest of his days. He's a disgusting human being, with not a single redeeming quality as a man, husband, father, businessman or politician. He cares nothing for anyone but himself and has no empathy, sympathy or morals. Satan himself looks upon Trump in disgust. Just today we passed a daily record of 120,000+ new cases of COVID. Hundreds of millions of us are wearing masks and or hunkered down in our communities and homes trying to make a living in this damaged economy that Trump wrecked through his negligence and stupidity, we are trying to protect the health of our loved ones and families, trying to stay safe ourselves and protect others, and this massive asshole has to go and get some self-gratification holding huge campaign rallies and possibly infect who knows how many other people in the process. He's a criminal sociopath and a major fucking asshole. There's no other way to describe it.

President Trump needs to declare Martial Law. And when the Marxists riot he immediately should invoke the Insurrection Act.

Correct me if I am wrong Sgt Sanctimonious but aren't the governors of each state not the gate keepers of who stays and who goes and the implementation of what state wide measures are put in place? Check out California and NY numbers while you are at it and then explain to me how this administration is to blame. Is it because we did not have enough ventilators to do long term lung damage to the lucky survivors or is it because the prior administration left our PPP stockrooms filled with empty air, dust bunnies, and rat bait stations? As to our testing, we have done more testing than almost any country in the world. Lastly, perhaps the reason we weren't prepared for the virus before it exploded may have something to do with the fact that the the White House, congress, and senate were embroiled in the biggest bullshit impeachment effort in all of history and the media was busy reporting on hard hitting journalism such as Trump's two scoops of ice cream. Only a myopic idiot would try and blame this all on the White House as there is plenty of responsibility to go around. Your party saw this as an election issue and put the fear of god, well ok they don't believe in god but you get my point, into their sheep and I feel blessed to be alive after narrowly avoiding the. 001% fatality rate. Make sure to raise your mask in between bites and stay safe.

Posts: 2337The one and only reason countries around the world have gone into full lock down mode is to prevent their health care facilities from being overwhelmed. People, this is not complicated, this administration by letting the coronavirus surge through the U.S. population with minimal testing, minimal social distancing and encouraging minimal face mask wearing has allowed the U.S to become the world's largest experiment in herd immunity. We shall see how this experiment in herd immunity works out.

Posts: 66Half the Country voted for Trump PERIOD
There will be no healing and I would guess that a full 60 percent people who work for living and pay taxes voted Republican. The narrative that Republican voters are stupid and uneducated is a joke when you look at the cities of welfare bums and babymamas that all vote democrat so they can keep getting their free shit and playing the victim. An unintended consequence of this election is that for many years, half the country will never believe a fucking word the mainstream media has to say about anything. Trump was not my favorite guy but I know what bullshit looks like when you have 99.5% negative coverage. The true hatred will continue and that senile asshole Biden isn't bring anyone together for his build back better economic package (seriously a retarded 3 year old could have done better with a slogan). The media will say we are all healed, cancel culture will continue, and any problems will be blamed on Trump. The silver lining is the poor slob democrats will still be poor slob democrats and when the economy tanks, I still have a job as I have my own business which is doing fine. Will deeply enjoy watching the Baristas, Bartenders, Drug addicted waiters / waitresses eat catfood after the lockdowns completely kill the businesses where they work that are owned by Republicans that tried to save the economy. As to your point about negative ads, California faggots and NY assholes will dump $500,000,000.00 into the Senate race and the fat-ass suburban housewives will have gotten Trump out and hopefully will have come to their senses in places like Cobb and elsewhere and will vote Conservative again. Once the Senate is held, no Court packing, no new States, and the crazy liberal bullshit won't see the light of day. No 4 B stimulus to bail out the pension funds for the California, Chicago, and New York and Nancy just lost her 2 B package as she overplayed the fuck out of her hand. As to the violence and rioting that will continue in places that voted heavily democrat, you reap what your sow fuckers. For the smarmy douche who will be reading this in his third language, that means you break it, you buy it fucktard.

Posts: 2337FWIW, Biden will be our next POTUS, after he wins Georgia, Arizona, Nevada and Pennsylvania. For all intents and purposes, the Presidential race is over, it’s been one hairy ass roller coaster ride for FOUR FUCKING YEARS, we have now finally pulled into the station and I want to get the hell off. In my estimation Biden wins 306 Electoral College votes to Trump’s 232.

Posts: 475If you want to get into those kind of comparisons, I would argue that neither Norway nor Denmark has near the amount of industry that Sweden does, so neither make a good comparison on that basis. And Sweden has said all along that their approach is a long-term approach. It makes no sense to be drawing conclusions at this point, especially based on a single snapshot in time. Of course overall numbers of neighboring countries who are in lockdowns will be lower during those times, that's only common sense! The premise all along has been that this is only delaying the spread of the virus (while causing other health and economic damage in the meanwhile). I think this has been borne out by those countries that have locked down and opened back up, and seen the corresponding virus spikes. Do you contend we should have locked down the entire world since March? And again, you do not address or even acknowledge the adverse effects that the lockdowns have on peoples' physical, mental, and economic well being. This has been documented and can be witnessed through increased depression, suicide, and murder rates, and decreases in physical health levels.
I think Sweden's approach of reasonable distancing and practical living is a perferctly rational way to go about handling this pandemic. They are now taking precautions to shelter the elderly and infirmed, and so long as their hospitals are not overwhelmed, there is no need for them to cripple their entire country by shutting down the nation.

What you seem to advocate is shut down everything until the virus is completely dead, thereby saving many lives in your opinion. What your opinion does not seem to include is the many, many more lives that will be lost due to the shutdown or the decimated economy, lost businesses and jobs that will certainly result from the second shutdown that is inevitable now that Harris has won the presidency. Hell is coming. A vote for Harris / Biden has guaranteed that grim reality. Congratulations. If you voted Harris / Biden you have voted to fuck America. Well done, comrades.

Posts: 307If you look at the geography of the three countries, Denmark is by far the outlier. Absent the Kiel Canal, it is basically Germany with a far denser population than its northern neighbors. Both Norway and Sweden have vast areas with little population and share a common border. Yet Norway has 1/3 the infection rate of Sweden. Population density is the global equivalent of social distancing. If two very similar areas have such different infection rates, it is not difficult to determine why.

Posts: 475Thanks for the links, I appreciate that. But I noticed you quoted selectively, and left out some important parts:
"As to the two-week cumulative number of COVID-19 cases per 100,000, Sweden has 293, Denmark 233 and Norway 97.3. The corresponding number of deaths is 0. 7 in Sweden and Denmark, and 0. 1 in Norway. ".
Comparing Sweden and Denmark, the recent numbers don't seem that different, and Sweden doesn't seem worse than others. That is backed up by the numbers reported here as well: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/. Looking over those numbers, I see many, many countries practicing lockdowns in far worse shape than Sweden.
Now, Sweden itself will be the first to admit it made mistakes in the way it handled the elderly in the early days of the Coronavirus. I think the whole world had a lot to learn about Coronavirus at that time, and no one got it 100% right, and sacrifices were made in one form or another causing loss of life, whether or not that is officially recognized in the stats or not. As your post said, "The Future" let's focus on that and not waste time looking back at past mistakes, except to learn from them. Looking at the more recent numbers, I don't see the basis for your case. And particularly not when you take into account the socioeconomic impacts that you don't care to address. Norway and Denmark happen to be very wealthy countries that can afford to lockdown, but that's not the case for most countries. And I won't get into the impact this has on the world supply chain and those 3rd world countries and lives lost there, which believe me, dwarf the COVID losses (now estimated at 1. 2 M vs the 9 M lives estimated by the WHO to be lost due to the economic impacts of the COVID shutdowns).
I also don't agree with your point about Sweden changing its stance. There's nothing in those links that indicates any drastic change in Sweden's original recommendations, only that they are perhaps tightening up on those recommendations and beginning to enforce those, instead of relying solely on voluntary compliance. So what if their PM got COVID and had to self-isolate? That's common sense. That has no bearing whatsoever on their approach to COVID- it's completely irrelevant and nothing but sensatiionalism, just as the rest of the content was sensationalized. I hardly see this in the light that you presented it- that their model has "crumbled" and they need to implement "stern" measures while they wait on a vaccine. Life is going on for the Swedes, they're not hiding in a cave waiting for a vaccine.
