I use a burner app. If you're familiar with these apps they assign you a telephone number which you can then use to text or make / receive calls through your mobile phone. For me, it is the safest way to go as I'd prefer not to own an additional phone.

On several occasions I've had providers refuse to communicate with me because they objected to the use of this number. I understand why a provider may feel their safety is at risk if they don't know, and can't trace, the monger.

I don't know how they'd be able to identify a burner number just by receiving a text or a call from it, unless they know something I don't. The only thing they'd be able to find out by searching a number is that it's a VoIP. There are sites that will tell you basic information about a particular number, such as the city it's registered in and whether it's a cell number, landline, or VoIP. I don't think most girls are that diligent or paranoid. They should expect to get texts from burners, Google Voice, etc. Anyway, so I don't see why they'd object to talking to you.
