Thanks for the info! I agree, Taqueria is legit. Alejandro's in town saves me a drive to Wahiawa so that's good to know.

Alan Wongs gone for good. More to come. Zippys quietly sold, maybe they never recovered from the cyber attack what a bunch of stupid on display typical local mentality, weak IT.
Lets see what new thing help move Hawaii forward now--clean slate.
Only wish is Hawaii people finally wake up and vote the career politicians out, out and out. They have done nothing the past few decades except have a career at our expense. Vote them out.

Posts: 148The best thing about Olive Garden is it's able to provide some jobs for islanders but it truly is the McDonald's of Italian food.

Posts: 65Agreed. I've had it on business trips to the mainland and got dehydrated from all the salt. Anything is worth trying once or twice but its not that great once the novelty wears off imo.

Posts: 493People don't come to Hawaii to try new foods. Look at all the franchises restaurants over here. They are always packed while most of the local places are kind of hole-in-the-wall spots. People (tourist) fly to Hawaii so they can eat the same old foods in a new location. You bring people here and after a couple days they will complain about the lack of mainland franchises here. Makes perfect sense to setup in Ala Moana with all the other franchises. People want large portions for cheap prices and that's definitely olive garden.

Posts: 215Maybe they intended to get a good percentage of customers from tourists when planning was started pre-covid. Sort of like Cheesecake Factory's customer mix pre-covid. Tourists from Asia not traveling further on to the mainland probably wanting to try out name recognition chain restaurants. If In-and-Out Burger opened here a lot of business would be taken away from McD's.

Posts: 360And with the opening of Olive Garden in Ala Moana - there are still no good Italian food options in Hawaii.

Same can be said of Mexican food in Hawaii. Limited options. Over priced. Mediocre flavor / quality / selection. Waste.
