Even if they do have your real contact information, there are tons of ways they could've accessed it. Maybe you claim they got your information from LinkedIn or some other public listing with your information and threatened to make up a story to blackmail you. Unless they point out specific information that is relevant to you and your personal life, I would say they are just BS'ing. They have no motivation to try to ruin your life. They have every motivation to get you to bend and profit from the threat. I would ignore, but not block them. This would give them an opportunity to provide any proof that they can really do what they say while leaving you an opportunity to respond only if you see they can prove a real threat.

For my two cents, how to proceed depends on how they know you have a wife.

- If you never mentioned anything about having a wife, then I'm afraid I don't see many options. If they did the research already, they are willing to put work into this.

Magicians use some props to make their tricks. They use FAKE money for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. They don't use that money outside their work environment to try to scam people. That would be illegal. A person may also get a Fake I'd for entertainment purposes only, the same way magicians use their props. You are not going to impersonate anybody with that fake I'd, nor are you going to scam people or obtain benefits. I've heard there are places where a person can get all kinds of Fake I'd's including work ones. Nobody in this hobby should know your personal information especially if you have a wife and life. If keep asking of how I get income I tell them I do stuff like they do that that I cannot talk about that just how they can't talk about how they make their money.
