I also read today that governor Baker basically said they're not going to do anything about people making "transitory" trips to go shopping or whatever. So there's still going to be a ton of traffic going back and forth between RI and MA, and it sounds like they're really not going to do anything about any of it (because how are they going to know where people are coming from or going to? I'm guessing maybe if you check into a hotel in one state and then show up in the other state a few days later, and it's somehow discovered by the state. You might run into some issues. I don't think short trips across the border are going to be a problem at all though.

Yes I believe both you & mr stank are correct. I live in the mass area & it takes me 10 minutes to get to Rhode Island so I go there a lot to hunt for hoes. From my understanding the travel ban won't really effect anyone from mass going to RI if you are there for less than 24 hrs. I think after that is when things get a little tricky. I don't think that's necessarily meant to apply to people just driving into RI for a little while and then coming back. I don't see how they could possibly enforce that, given the proximity of the two states and how many people work in one state while living in the other (or just have to go through RI to get from one part of MA to the other). How would they know you're not just passing through RI to get from Seekonk to Attleboro, or vice-versa? I'm not particularly worried about it, it's unenforceable IMHO.

I don't think that's necessarily meant to apply to people just driving into RI for a little while and then coming back. I don't see how they could possibly enforce that, given the proximity of the two states and how many people work in one state while living in the other (or just have to go through RI to get from one part of MA to the other).
